Finishes for Clark, Bresette Reinstated Following Review
PLATTSBURGH, NY - Airborne Park Speedway has announced that the finishes for Busch Beer Mini-Modified drivers Kris Clark (#77NY) and Eddie Bresette (#15) have been reinstated following initial disqualifications in the second 20-lap feature race on Saturday, June 20.
The cars were initially disqualified in post-race inspection for having unapproved aftermarket ignition coil packs. An off-season discussion about allowing the aftermarket parts took place, but the parts were not officially allowed in the 2015 rulebook.
After extensive review of the parts in the aforementioned cars, the disqualifications have been reversed. Aftermarket coil packs will now be allowed in the Mini-Modified class, so long as they are stock or stock equivalent replacement parts.
Kris Clark will now be credited with the victory for the second Peru Federal Credit Union/Econo Lodge Night Mini-Modified feature, and Eddie Bresette will now be credited with a third-place finish; the official finish order and point standings have been updated to reflect this adjustment. However, because the cars were in violation of the rulebook at the time, a 10-point penalty has been assessed to each driver.
A mandatory rules meeting for all drivers in the Mini-Modified division will be held in the inspection garage area at Airborne Park Speedway on Saturday, June 27 at 4:00 p.m.
