2019 Plattsburgh Airborne Speedway Outlook
PLATTSBURGH – Plattsburgh Airborne Speedway management is excited about the upcoming 2019 season.
The DIRTcar 358-Modifieds and DIRTcar Sportsman divisions return to Airborne for this season. One addition to Airborne from the DIRTcar family will be the Pro Stock division, which will run a little more than a half schedule.
Two of the local divisions will return this year, Super Stocks and Strictly Stocks. Meetings were held in the off-season to see if numbers were strong enough to continue with the Mini-Mod division but unfortunately the numbers were not significant enough.
One other division addition will be the Novice Sportsman. This division will allow rookie Sportsman drivers to get seat time and get comfortable before moving up to the DIRTcar Sportsman division.
The full schedule is expected to be released by the end of January. Premier events on the schedule for 2019 include a $10,000 to win automatic Oswego qualifier for the Super DIRTcar Series Big Block Modifieds. The Empire Super Sprints will return to Plattsburgh for the third-consecutive year. Additionally, the DIRTcar 358-Modifieds and DIRTcar Pro Stocks will have an event, while the DIRTcar Sportsman Series will appear twice on the schedule.
Other touring series scheduled include the Dirt Modified Nostalgia Tour, Quebec Lightning Sprints, Can Am Mod Lites, King of Dirt Sportsman Series and the Canadian Soleno Pro Stock Series.
The new website is currently in progress and we will have it up as soon as possible. The web address will be plattsburghairbornespeedway.com.
