Plattsburgh Airborne Speedway: Moving Forward
PLATTSBURGH – The wheels are in motion for the 2020 season at Plattsburgh Airborne Speedway as over 150 drivers, crew members, and staff attended an informational meeting at American Legion Post 1619 in West Plattsburgh this past Thursday.
The new team addressed several key points for the upcoming season including the divisions that will participate in the Saturday night short track racing action.
The Sportsman Modified division will headline the program and will be DIRTcar sanctioned. The Super Stock, Limited Sportsman and Strictly Stock divisions will return weekly as well. Pro Stocks were on a part-time basis a year ago and will remain the same in 2020. A seven to nine race schedule is expected for the Pro Stocks, which will be DIRTcar sanctioned to allow racers to collect Hoosier Racing Tire Weekly Championship points.
Scheduling is currently taking place and will be available to the public as soon as possible. A practice session is scheduled for Sunday, April 26, with opening day slated for Saturday, May 2.
Rules are currently being reviewed and will be posted to the website upon completion. Plattsburgh Airborne Speedway track memberships will also be made available online for anyone wishing to receive a reduced pit entry fee. All Sportsman and Pro Stock drivers will be required to have a DIRTcar Membership prior to competition, while Super Stock, Strictly Stock and Limited Sportsman drivers are encouraged to have Plattsburgh Airborne Speedway memberships.
